We were without a car from June 4 to June 30, 2010 so there were times that if I needed to go somewhere more quickly than walking and not wanting to pester anyone for a ride I used my bicycle.
Most people have ridden a bicycle and perhaps a motor cycle. Even if you have never ridden one of these you can notice something that you can apply to your walk with God--if you are walking with Him.
While riding a bicycle requires keeping one’s balance, it also requires one to keep moving forward. This means one has to use their feet and push down on the foot peddles. If you stop peddling, you can coast for a time but at some point unless you start peddling again your bike will slow down to a point whereby you will lose your balance and one of your feet has to touch the ground.
Now, I did poorly in physical science in school so I cannot tell you all the science behind riding a bike. I'm sure there has to be some laws of physics involved, probably like "an object in motion tends to stay in motion."
There's probably a number of physical laws involved, and though I don't know their names and reasonings, I just get on a bike and ride it. In a way it could be said I have faith in the law of physics, and that of nature in that while in motion I am able to be balanced.
Essentially this is the same between us and God. His Word gives us laws and principles to follow. Like pushing down on a peddle, it might be hard at first. However, just as the more we peddle the easier the bike ride becomes, so it is with our walk with God. Of course it takes longer since we have a number of things against us. However, with the help of Christ, especially if He is inside of us, we can excel provided we continue in faith.
By the Holy Spirit Paul wrote in Romans 1:17 that those who have committed to Christ have abundant power to live the life needed to please God: "For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith."
If you truly know Christ, keep moving forward, from faith to faith.

"O thou afflicted, tossed with tempest and not comforted, behold, I will lay thy stones with fair colors and lay thy foundations with sapphires. And I will make thy windows of agates and thy gates of rubies, and all thy borders of pleasant stones. And all thy children shall be taught of the LORD, and great shall be the peace of thy children." --- Isaiah 54:11-13
